The first question is WHY? More power for bigger people, higher towing capacity and can go up steeper grades with bigger loads. This is unprecedented power for such a small vehicle, but many people just wanted or needed more power. What else is different besides more power? The 1000 is the first model ever designed which uses a drop in Ni-Zn Battery which allows the extra power and the run time most people wanted. This is the most significant change and accounts for most of the cost of these units, besides the motor. What does Ni-Zn mean to us simple folk? These are Nickel-Zinc batteries, similar to you power drill or laptop battery. Our battery is a 28 cell, 48V 8ah removable battery about the size of 2 shoe boxes. If you have ever purchased a replacement battery for a power drill you may have paid up to $100, ouch! Imagine the cost of 2 shoe boxes of these batteries! Now you can see how the new batteries affect the price so much, they are that much of an improvement. What is the difference between the lead acid batteries and Ni-Zn? Well the biggest change and most important changes are that these batteries are removable and have almost 3-4 times the life of a lead acid battery. This means you can remove the batteries when loading and unloading the coolers, thus lowering the weight down to 50lbs. You can also use your cooler up to 4 times as long before replacing a battery, which is measured in years, depending on use. You can also buy backup batteries and higher amp batteries. These more powerful batteries will extend driving time even longer. They will soon be available on our web site. What is the difference in the motor? The motor is an air cooled 48V, 1000 watt, 4 brush motor. This gives the motor all of the torque, speed and longevity you would ever need. What else is different ? The changes between a 1000 and other coolers is the motor, motor frame, controller, battery and throttle. What about speed? The speed might be slightly faster than your 300-750 watt units but the change is not significant, maybe 2-3 miles per hour faster. There are gear and chain options that will be available for this model soon. What about drive time? With the standard battery it is estimated that you can cruise around for up to 3 hours, depending on your weight and the terrain. The other battery options, say one 16ah battery and a 16ah backup should be able to run you around for up to 8 hours or more, again depending on your weight and terrain. Are you going to make a more powerful cooler? Not in the 50 series size. What do they weigh? They full cooler weight with battery is 76.05lbs/34.5kg. Without battery 49.6lbs/22.5kg. The battery by itself weights 26.45lbs/12kg How soon can I get one? Orders are placed on a "first come, first server basis" so if you want one you better get one ordered today. This is a limited production model, so you may be one of the few people who has one of the few 1000 watt coolers in the world. Delivery is expected to be in 6 weeks or around the middle to late December, but since it is a new model there may be delays as the new molds are being made. We are doing our very best to get in before Christmas but can not promise they will be here in time. How many are you producing? We are only producing 210 units, all in black. That is not a whole lot of units for all of the US and Canada. Are you planning on making more? Not at the moment, we are only producing 210 pieces but we may decide to make more, depending on demand. Can I get a different color than black? There are few choices but you can buy another 51 series body, new or used, and change it out your self or you can pay our service department to switch your body for $149.00, depending on available colors.
